I will never have a use for this. It was a great learning experience though. The banana crop seems to have a rather harsh impact on the environment. 80 to 100" minimum of rainfall is required to irrigate the crop which may not be an issue in Hawaii where there is typically ample rainfall. In drier banana growing regions this would certainly have an impact on community water. It appears one of the most striking environmental impact is clear cutting of forests and stripping of native topsoil. Any pesticides used will be washed off and into watersheds. The use of chlorine to kill pests is also concerning. Given my commitment to the environment with the information I learned here I will buy less bananas and only buy bananas from producers such as Equal Exchange, Earth University or Grow Bananas. Thank you for this information. Humans like animals get satisfaction from different food, and when you go genetically poisen food, you simply take that away, and the result a depress nation. They know it very well that is why still they are growing in some eyellands in madasca and philiphines and eat the same food they have eaten 2to300 years ago while the rest of us eat poisen.... Сразу извиняюсь за мой русский язык. Уже после начала сьемки я, вслушиваясь в свои слова, врубаюсь, что довольно тяжело мне стало связывать слова в обтекаемые предложения на русском. Получается, что я месяцами практически не использую родной язык, ну, разве что в разговорах с четырёхлетней дочкой, зачастую ловлю себя на мысли, что уже начинаю думать по-испански))) Ну и теряется скорость и плавность выражения мысли))) Так что, терпите, что есть https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4XB1OaSGY4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LcEzkyz_Vk Read more Reply 2 mulugeta gobena bejigo mulugeta gobena bejigo2 years ago it is amazing technique and i found it very interesting Reply 3 kartiwan sugandani kartiwan sugandani2 years ago Good video ! Reply 3 Gesmay Paynter Gesmay Paynter2 years ago No alarm bell should be raised about harsh impact on the environment as Darris B. Nelson believes. As long as I can remember there is a banana bush growing by the side of the road by my sister's house in The Seychelles. Those banana plants produce healthy bunches of banana all through the year. Banana trunks ( stems) contain lots of moisture. For your information in some Central African countries banana stems are used as morgue to keep the dead bodies until the community raised enough money to make a party and a funeral to remember . There are so much more to know and to educate ourselves about those amazing / nutritious fruits (bananas).
