Mark Spirito The main principles of Ayurvedic eating are that certain foods are very healthy for certain doshas, but could be very unhealthy for others, especially if eaten everyday. Ayurveda is also about balance, so the idea that you should eat the same fruit or vegetable every day is not an Ayurvedic principle. One should eat different foods to help balance one's own personal doshic makeup and certain foods are better eaten in Spring, Winter, Summer or Fall again depending on one's doshic makeup. If you'd like to know more about Ayurveda please see either of my websites: www.mydailydosha.com or www.ayurvedamaui.com .

I like to slice up banana's and freeze them. Then you can use the frozen banana as a base for any smoothie or just blend the banana and it tastes just like banana ice cream. I usually add, strawberry's and blueberry's or apples and spinach and peanuts, tastes pretty good. But, any combination of fruits you have will be good, if you like them. I am on a high folate diet that's why I add spinach and peanuts to mine. Also, add a little water if you want it more liquified to drink or less if you want to eat like ice cream.

All fruits have Enzyme unless you cook over 60 deg.c. Enzyme is the key for helping digestion for other food in your system. Also there a many kinds of minerals in fruits. Difference with Vitamin C pill and Lemon is pill does not contain any mineral, but Lemon does.

Yes, of course fruits are good, we all know that. However, as Sylvia Surfer is writing, too much can also work negative. As well, I believe, we should also keep to what the nature gives in the climate where we are living. E.g. pineapples are growing in tropical countries, not in e.g. in scandinavia, vice verce with e.g blue berries.
